"BESSINGBY, a parish in the wapentake of Dickering; (Bessingby House the seat of
Harrington Hudson, Esq.) 1½ mile SW. of Bridlington. --Pop. 83. The Church is a
perpetual curacy, dedicated to St. Magnus (see Churches for photograph), in the deanry of Dickering.
