Geographical and Historical information from the year 1835.

"BURNBY, a parish in the Wilton-Beacon division of the wapentake of HARTHILL, East riding of the county of YORK, 2 miles E.S.E. from Pocklington, containing 95 inhabitants. Theliving is a discharged rectory, in the archdeaconry of the East riding, and diocese of York, rated in the king's books at £7- 15., and in the patronage of the Duke of Devonshire. The church is dedicated to St. Giles."
