DRYPOOL:
Geographical and Historical information from the year 1868.

"DRYPOOL, a parish in the middle division of the wapentake of Holderness, in the East Riding of the county of York. It is situated on the river Humber, forming a suburb of the town of Hull. It contains Southcoates. The village of Frismerk, which, some centuries ago, was swallowed up by the inundations of the Humber, is supposed to have been situated near Drypool. The living is a perpetual curacy* in the diocese of York, value £300, in the patronage of Simeon's Trustees. The church, dedicated to St. Peter, is a neat modern building. The charities for the poor (Scott's) amount to £100 per annum."
