LOW CATTON:
Geographical and Historical information from the year 1750.
"LOW CATTON, a parish in the E.R. of Yorkshire."
"STAMFORD BRIDGE, in the parish of Low Catton, Yorkshire, E.R., over the Derwent, S. W. of Wilton, is by some writers called Battle-Bridge, because K. Harold gave a signal defeat to the forces of Harold the Norwegian, just before the arrival of William the Conq. to England."
