SOUTH DALTON:
Geographical and Historical information from the year 1868.

"SOUTH DALTON, a parish in the Hunsley Beacon division of the wapentake of Harthill, in the East Riding of the county of York, 6 miles N.W. of Beverley, and 5 from North Dalton. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of York, value £450, in the patronage of Lord Hotham. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. In 1822 the tithes were commuted for land and corn-rents, under the Enclosure Act."
