A parish town, in the wapentake of Buckrose; 4 miles from Sledmere, 12 from Malton, 28 from York. Population 334. The Church, a peculiar of the Dean and Chapter of York, is a vicarage, dedicated to All Saints, in the deanery of Buckrose.
