"BURDALE, a township in the parish of Wharram-Percy, wapentake of Buckrose, in the East Riding of the county of York, 8 miles to the S.E. of New Malton. It is united with Raisthorpe."


"RAISTHORPE, a township in the parish of Wharram-Percy, wapentake of Buckrose, East Riding county York, 9 miles N.E. of Pocklington, and 2 from Burdale station on the Malton and Driffield line of railway."


"THIXENDALE, a township in the parish of Wharram-Percy, wapentake of Buckrose, East Riding county York, 8 miles N.E. of Pecklington, and 2 from Burdale railway station. The village is situated near Thixendale Wold. There is a school for both sexes, supported by Lady Sykes, and in which divine service is performed. The Wesleyans have a chapel."
