A parish town, in the wapentake of Dickering, a part in the Liberty of St. Peter; 3 miles from Driffield, 5 from Sledmere, 15 from Bridlington, 16¼ from Malton, 29 from York. Population 357. The Church is a vicarage, dedicated to St. Michael, in the deanery of Dickering.
