A parish town, in Agbrigg division of Agbrigg and Morley, Liberty of Pontefract; 2 miles from Dewsbury, 6 from Wakefield, 9½ from Huddersfield, 35 from York. Population 1,932. The Church is a rectory, dedicated to St. Michael, in the deanery of Pontefract.
