Mr. Campbell was one of the witnesses and is described in the witness list as Chief Constable, Hull.

There are, however, 2 separate lists, as follows:

(1) RETURN of FISHERMAN DROWNED and DIED at SEA since January 1878 (see below).
(2) RETURN of FISHERBOYS DROWNED and DIED at SEA since Janaury 1878 to 19th September 1882 (see below).

Transcriber's Notes

1. The transcription has been made from a typed report. However, I think it is likely that the typed copy is itself a transcription of something else, maybe even a double transcription. It is possible that Mr Campbell wrote this out from a register held in Hull (or had someone else do it) and then it was typed from that.
2. So - like all other secondary sources, the original should be checked if at all possible. I regret I do not know if the original still exists or where it might be held.
3. Sadly, I have no other information about fishermen who died at sea beyond what is contained on the lists.
