1609, May 15. Master Richard Rossiter and Mrs. Elizabeth Boursher, daughter to Mr. John Boursher, of Grimston." Kirkby Underdale Register. 'The name is more generally spelt "Bourchier." She was baptized 25 March, 1593. Her father was knighted 11 November, 1619, and from her aunt, Katherine, wife of Sir Richard Mauleverer, of Allerton Mauleverer, knight, 'Dubbed at lbs Lord Lumley's house on the Tower Hill the 9 of January, 1583" (W. Metcalfe's Book of Knights, 1885, p. 135), High Sheriff of Yorkshire in 1588, I have the honour to descend. That makes two forefathers of mine, besides cousins, judges of Charles Stuart, some time king of England, and I am proud of them both.-C.B.N.

Sir Guilford Slingsby baptized 7 October, 1565, at Knaresborough, was knighted at Whitehall 23 July, 1603. Sir Henry Slingsby's Diary, (Ed. Daniel Parsons, M.A., London, 1836, p.405). His wife was daughter of William Watter, Lord Mayor of York, 1620, by Anne, daughter of Thomas Anlaby, of Etton. They had eight sons and four daughters.

Their second son, Martin, Citizen of London, was buried at Upton, near Southwell, 1673, aged 59. See- Throsbys Edition of Thoroton's Nottinghamshire, 1797 vol. iii., p. 101. He may have been son of Michael Oglethorpe, of Thorner, by Ann Stillington, in which case he married his fourth cousin. Eleanor (called Helen n p. 314 of Foster's Visitations) was daughter of William Oglethorpe, by Anne, daughter of Robert Sotheby, of Pocklington, married there 16 October, 1580.

I venture to suggest these Christian names, because such a marriage did take place; and the four sons, Edward, Richard, Peter, John, all died on the field of honour, in the cause of King Charles the First.

The Parish Register of Addle says, " 1609. Oct. 13. Richard Fawkingham of Leeds, Esq., and Elizabeth Thomson, married." He was of Northall, Leeds. She, dau. of William Thompson of Esholt. They had a son John, aet. 2, 1612. Foster's Visitations, pp. 225, 300. 'Whitaker's Thoresby's Leeds, p. 106, wrongly calls her daughter of Henry Thompson.

Perhaps the younger brother of Sir Marmaduke Rawdon of London, knighted at Oxford, 28 December, 1643, died 28 April, 1646, aged 63.

Brian Ullithorne was of Sleningford, parish of Ripon, 1596. His Will was proved 16 Dec. 1630, by his son William Ullithorne, whose Will was proved 23 March, 1670-1. By his wife Mary, he had Richard Ullithorne, Will proved 18 Dec., 1693, who by Sarah Beck- with, his wife, married at Masham, 20 Oct., 1658, buried at Tanfield, 3 Sept., 1678, had William Ullithorne of Sleningford, bapt. at Tanfield, 25 Oct., 1672. Executor to his father, whose Will was proved 16 April 1711. He left a widow; Margaret. Brian Ullithorne's brother William, of Sleningford, 1590-1610, was father of Richard Ullithorne, his executor, who married Ann, dau. of John Danby of Carethorp (by Margery, daughter of Marmaduke Wilson of West Tanfield, Foster's Visitation, p.591),who made her Will, 4 January, 1657-8. They had John, buried at Ripon, 1690, who by Frances, daughter of the Rev. George Conyers of Fylingdales, Whitby, and Halsham (married 23 June, 1657, buried 8 February, 1692-3. at Ripon), had issue Isabella, wife of William Wray, mother of Sir John Wray, 14th Baronet.
