A parish in the wapentake of Bulmer, and partly in the peculiar jurisdiction of the Dean and Chapter of York; 3½ miles from Boroughbridge, 6 from Easingwold, 9 from Ripon, 16 from York. Population 178. The Church is a vicarage, dedicated to St. Peter, in the deanery of Bulmer.
