Geographical and Historical information from the year 1835.

"BRANDSBY, a parish in the wapentake of BULMER, North riding of the county of YORK, 6 miles E.N.E. from Easingwold, containing, with Stearsby, 277 inhabitants. The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Cleveland, and diocese of York, rated in the king's books at £9- 8. 11., and in the patronage of Thomas Smith, Esq. The church is dedicated to All Saints."


"STEARSBY, a hamlet in the parish of BRANDSBY, wapentake of BULMER, North riding of the county of YORK, 7 mjles E.N.E. from Easingwold. The population is returned with the parish."
