Grinton, Monumental Inscriptions transcription:

The Monument to the wife of the Rev. Worthington in St. Andrew's Church, Grinton.

In the Churchyard
Near to this spot rest the remains of
Mary, the wife of the Rev. H. BURDETT WORTHINGTON,
Vicar of this Parish.
Right dear in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
Ascribing to the Lord the honour due unto his name,
Let this tablet in the language of affection and of truth,
Preserve to those who shall come after the memory
of MARY WORTHINGTON. Her days on earth
were few but they were oracious that faith which is of God,
Which purifies the heart, which works by love, was the rule of her
Unsullied charitable life. In that life the many endearing
Virtues of the wife, the mother, and the friend were witnesses to
All that she had learned of Jesus, and her works
Were the works of nature sanctified.
In peace and hope, she was called from us on earth
to that better world above, on Sunday the 20th of Nov. 1837,
Being in the 33rd year of her age.
To the same grave two sweet children had gone before,
Emily Elizabeth Mary, who died on Sunday March 31st, and
Sarah Maria, who died on Sunday May 30th, 1835,
Emily in her 7th, Sarah Maria in her 3rd year.
