"BAXTONHOWE, a farm house in the township of Airyholme, Howthorpe, and Baxtonhowe, and parish of Hovingham; 2¼ miles SSE. of Hovingham, 7½ miles from Kirkbymoorside, 8 from Malton. Population included in Airyholme."


"COULTON, or COLTON, in the parish of Hovingham, wapentake of Rydale; 2 miles WSW. of Hovingham, 7 miles S. of Helmsley, 9 from Kirkbymoorside, 12 from Malton. Population 112."


"FRYTON, in the parish of Hovingham wapentake of Rydale; 1¼ miles ESE. of Hovingham, 6½ miles WNW. of Malton. Pop. 62."
