"KIRKDALE, a parish in the wapentake of Rydale."


"BEADLAM, and NAWTON, are two small townships and villages, in the parish of Kirkdale, in the same wapentake as Helmsley, about two miles east of that town. The population of Beadlam, in 1821, was 143, and Nawton 333."
Note: The directory entry for Beadlam in Pigot's 1829 Directory is included with Helmsley.
