First World War memorial plate - in the church
This is on the south wall inside the church of St Mary and St Lawrence, in the village of Rosedale Abbey.

It is of brass within a wooden frame

At the top of the wooden frame is carved:

PARISH OF ROSEDALE
At the bottom of the wooden frame is carved:
THANKS BE TO GOD WHO GIVETH US THE VICTORY
At the top of the brass plate are the words:
TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN HONOUR OF THE
MEN FROM THIS PARISH WHO FOUGHT IN THE
GREAT WAR FOR RIGHT AND FREEDOM. 1914-1919

These are opposite a row of houses called School Row. School Row is just over a mile north east of Rosedale Abbey village along Daleside Road on the eastern side of the River Seven (there is another Daleside Road on the western side). The Ordnance Survey reference is SE 713 975.
