The place: ROKEBY.     Church dedication: ST. MARY.     Church type: Discharged Vicarage.

Area, 1,990 acres *1. Gilling West wapentake. -Population, 211 ; Church-room, 150; Net value, £160. -The Church belonged to the patronage of the Abbot and Convent of Eggleston, to which it was appropriated 6th May 1342, and a Vicarage ordained. At the Dissolution the patronage came to the Crown.

Valued in the King's Books, at £4. 3s. 9d.

The glebe house is fit for residence.

The Register Books commence in 1661.
