The first list of Benefactions in St. Mary's Church, Thirsk.


BENEFACTIONS

TIMOTHY PLACE ESQ'r, late of London, but formerly of this Town, left by his Will Bearing Date June 1st 1810, one Thousand Pounds 3 per Cent Consolidated Fund to the Poor of this Parish, for ever, a proportionate part of the Interest and Dividend of which to be Laid out every week in the purchase of Bread and Distributed amongst such poor people of the Parish of Thirsk, not receiving alms from the said Parish, with this express Condition, namely, that such Persons shall be regular, in attendance on Divine Worship in this Church. The above named Timothy Place Esq'r. left also by his said Will Two Hundred Pounds 3 per Cent Consolidated Fund towards Building the Organ in this Church.

RICHARD McPHERSON ESQ'r. of Lombard Street London, left by Will 1855 the Sum of two Hundred Pounds to the Incumbent and Churchwardens, for the time being of the Parish of Thirsk to be distributed among the Poor thereof in sucn manner as they may think Proper.
