Geographical and Historical information from the year 1868.

"THORMANBY, a parish in the wapentake of Bulmer, North Riding county York, 4 miles N. of Easingwold, its post town, and 6 S.E. of Thirsk. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of York, value £216. The church, dedicated to St. Mary, is an ancient edifice with a tower and two bells. The stalls are of black oak. The parochial charities produce about £6 per annum."
