The Ancient Parish of WARTHILL

[Transcribed information from the early 1820s]

"WARTHILL, a parish in the wapentake of Bulmer, a part in the liberty of St. Peter's; (the seat of Benjamin Agar, Esq.) 5 miles ENE. of York. Here is a church (see Churches for photograph), dedicated to St. Mary; the living is a rectory, in the patronage of the Prebendary of Warthill, and the Rev. Isaac Grayson, is the incumbent. Population, 153."
