ADWICK LE STREET:
Geographical and Historical information from the year 1750.

"ADWICK LE STREET, (given as "ADWIC") a parish in the West Riding of Yorkshire, on Stratton, or on the Street, not far from Doncaster, is chiefly memorable for the benefaction of Mrs. Anne Savil, daughter of John Savil of Medley, Esq; a pious virgin, who, after reading Sir H. Spelman's tract, de non temerandis Ecclesiis, purchased the rectory of this Ch. and settled it in the hands of trustees, for the use of the Ch. for ever."
