BROTHERTON:
Geographical and Historical information from the year 1829.

"BROTHERTON, a village in the parish of its name, in the wapentake of Barkstone-Ash, liberty of St. Peter, and honour of Pontefract, is about one mile from that town, and three from Ferrybridge. The lime trade is carried on here extensively. The population of the parish is 1,491."
Note: The directory entry for Brotherton in Pigot's 1829 Directory is included with Pontefract.
