Transcript of the entry of "professions and trades for SETTLE in White's Directory of 1837.

POST OFFICE:

  • Mr John Gibbins is the postmaster. Letters are despatched by the mail-gig to London, Leeds, Westmorland, &c., at 4 afternoon, and received at 7 morning. A foot-post to Clapham, with letters for Bentham, & Lancashire, departs at 7 morning, and returns at 2 afternoon.
