The ex-Roman Catholic Church, Fairfield, disused when the photograph was taken, but now converted into flats.
- Heptonstall is very unusual in having two churches in the same churchyard.
One is in ruins (St. Thomas a Beckett) due to the tower being virtually destroyed
in 1847, and the other (built 1850-1854) is in use (St. Thomas the Apostle).
