"KIRK BRAMWITH, a parish in the upper division of the wapentake of Osgoldcross, in the West Riding of the county of York, 6 miles to the N.E. of Doncaster, its post town. It is a station on the South Yorkshire railway. Braithwaite, Hawkhouse Green, and Kirkhouse Green are hamlets included in this parish The Stainforth and Keadby canal passes through it. The living is a rectory* in the diocese of York, of the value of £517, in the patronage of the Duchy of Lancaster. The church is dedicated to St. Mary. There are some small charitable endowments, worth £4 a year."
