October 1575; proved 14 March 1575-76. My body to be buried in the parish Church of Leeds, near to
my stall. To the poor, 13s. 4d. To Francis Jenkinsone, one cow and one cobborde. My son-in-law,
John Burton, the red stole which I gave him. My iron chumlitte in my dwelling house, with the iron
gallows, crokes, kylves, reckans, tonges, &c., and my grate double arke, to remain as heirlooms to the
use of my son, Edward C. To Edward Boythe, my grandchild, my best pare of walker sheares. To each
of my God-children, 4d. To my daughter Alice Jenkinson, one arke. Debts to be paid. Residue equally
divided into three parts; one for the performance of this will; one to Elizabeth, my wife; and the
third to be equally divided among my four daughters, Agnes Boythe, Elizabeth Broke, Alice Jenkinson,
and Margaret Burton. To my son William, my oxe, to be made up to 6£. 13s. 4d. To Elizabeth, my wife,
my lease, &c., in closes, called Skinner Croft. I heartily desire Edward, my son, to pay his sisters
each 20£ during six years, and to my son William C., 20s. per year after his mother's death. Witnesses
- Alexander Fascett, clerke; George Cowper; John Cowper; Thomas Ambler; John Bussee; and Henry Kychen;
Elizabeth Calbecke, his wife; Edward and William C.; Bryan Booth; John Broke; William Jenkinson; John
Burtone.
