1587; proved 19 January 1587. Body to be buried in the parish church of Leeds, near unto my
stall. Goods to be divided into three parts - one to the performance of this will, one to Agnes, my
wife, and the third to my three daughters, Mary R., Alice R., and Agnes R., and to the child in my
wife's wombe, equally. Wife Agnes, best silver salte; son Richard R., one silver boule or goblett
worth 3£. 6s. 8d.; daughter-in-law, Katherine R., his wife, one silver cupp, 6 oz. weight; daughter-
in-law, Grace R., 6 silver spoones. Brother-in-law, John Stevenson, gold ring. Brother-in-law John
Harrison, 10s. George, son of William Dyneley, of Swillington, gentleman, 10s. My 5 sons,
Richard, George, Alexander, William, and Bryan R., 20£. apece at 22 years of age, and other 10£.
apece at 24 years of age. Poor of Leeds, 40s. Mending of the highways between Leeds and
Scarcroft, 10s.; way towards the Cole Pyttes at Skelton, 10s. Children of 3 of my wife's sisters,
10s. each. Brother-in-Law, John Kirke, 10s. Four nephews, John R., the elder, Thomas R., the
elder, Thomas R., the younger, and John R., younger, 10s. each. Half of remainder of said part
to Agnes, my wife, and the other half among my 3 daughters. Supervisors: - William Dyneley,
gentleman, Richard Cowper, William Coldcole, and George Robinson, my nephew. To my wife,
Agnes for life, 2 cottages in Kirkgate, a close in Wakefield or Standley, in Wyndhill laith, &c., in
Wryngatte in Wakefield, after her death to George R., my son, and his heirs. To said Agnes, my
wife, theis parcels of land - Burgage in Leeds where I dwell, tenement in Kirkgate, 2 closes at
Conyshawe, of one furshott there near unto the Hillhouse Banks, one close called Shortecroft,
holden in free socage, and the other called Cony Shawe, holden by copie of courte roule of the
manor of Leeds. After decease of Agnes, my wife, to Alexander, my son, and his heirs. Also to
said Agnes, for life, lands, &c., and 4 cottages in Hillhouse Banks and closes thereto, and 2 closes
called Skynner Croftes, in Hillhouse Banks, all holden by copy of court roll. Remainder to son
William. Also, to Agnes, my wife, for life, tenement in Kirkgate and close in Leeds Woodhouse
fields, near Ladie Flatt, and cottage in a lane leading from the new chapel toward Shipscarr Bridge,
and croft, and 2½ acres in Leeds Woodhouse fields, lately purchased of William Hardwicke, 6ac,
1r., in Meare Sykes, 3 roods in the mydlefield of Knowstrope, near to the Hillfield there [all which
7 acres I purchased of William Ardington], one cottage in Marsh Lane. After decease of wife,
Agnes, these to remain to son Bryan. Witnesses: - Alexander Fawcett, William Coldcole, George
Robinson, yonger, John Harrison, John Kirke, and Henry Kytchinge with others.
