The place:

A Chapelry in the parish of Sheffield, upper division of Strafforth and Tickhill, Liberty of Hallamshire; 3 miles from Sheffield, 11 from Chesterfield (Derbys). Population 9,113. The Church is a perpetual curacy, dedicated to All Saints, in the deanery of Doncaster.
