The place:

A modern parish of Wakefield, in the area of the City known as St. John's. The Church was commenced in 1792, and completed in 1795. It became parochial in 1815. Population, including All Saints 10,764. The Church, dedicated to St. John, is a perpetual curacy, in the deanery of Pontefract.
