The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Ballycrogue contained the following places:

"BALLYCROGUE, a parish in the barony and county of Carlow, in the province of Leinster, Ireland, 3 miles to the S.E. of Carlow. It is on the banks of the Burren river. The living is a rectory forming part of the union of Staplestown, in the diocese of Ossory, Ferns, and Leighlin."
