The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868
In 1868, the parish of Straboe contained the following places:"STRABOE, a parish in the barony of Rathvilly, county Carlow, province of Leinster, Ireland, 4 miles N.N.W. of Tullow. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Leighlin. The church has long been demolished. There are ruins of a castle and traces of a Danish rath."
