Church History

The ancient parish church that stood in Dysert Burial Grounds fell into ruins centuries ago. In the Roman Catholic church Dysert has been merged into the parish of Kileentierna. Neither of that parish's two churches are within the boundaries of Dysert Civil parish. In the Church of Ireland Dysert was merged with Castleisland in 1740.
