Church History

The ruins of the ancient medieval parish church survive in poor condition in the graveyard.

The church was taken over at the Reformation by the Established Church (now the Church of Ireland). On the death of the rector in 1680 the parish ceased to exist and was united to Ballynacourty and Kilflyn.

In the Roman Catholic church Stradbally forms part of the parish of Castlegregory. There are churches at Castlegregory and Cloghane.
