The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Extraparochial contained the following places:

"ANNAMULT, (or Aglinamult), an extra-parochial place in the barony of Shillelogher, in the county of Kilkenny, province of Leinster, Ireland, 6 miles to the S. of Kilkenny. It is situated at the junction of the King's river and the river Nore. The living is a rectory, part of the union of Kells, in the diocese of Ossory, Ferns, and Leighlin. An extensive Merino cloth factory, employing 800 hands, was established here, but did not succeed, and the works have remained unoccupied. Annamult House is the principal residence.

"BROWN MOUNTAIN, an extra-parochial district, in the barony of Kells, in the county of Kilkenny province of Leinster, Ireland, 3 miles to the S.W. of Kilmaganny. It is joined with the parish of Tullahought."

"MONAKINE, (or Mountcoin), an extra parochial place in county Kilkenny, Ireland, 9 miles N.W. of Waterford.
