KILCOAN
"Kilcoan",
a parish, in the barony of Ida, county of
Kilkenny, and province of Leinster; containing 441 inhabitants, 2075
statute acres. The living is a rectory and vicarage, in the diocese of
Ossory, episcopally united in 1779 to Kilbride, and in the patronage
of the Bishop. In the R. C. divisions it forms part of the union or
district of Slieruagh.
