TREADINGSTOWN
"Treadingstown", or Ballyreddin,
a parish, in the barony of Gowran, county of
Kilkenny, and province of Leinster, 5 miles (W.S.W.) from Gowran, on the
river Nore: the population is returned with the parish of Killarney. This
small parish comprises only 704 statute acres: it is a rectory, in the
diocese of Ossory, entirely appropriate to the economy estate of the
cathedral of St. Canice, Kilkenny. In the Roman Catholic divisions it
forms part of the union or district of Danesfort.
