The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Glencar contained the following places:

"GLENCAR, (or Glenlough), a quoad sacra parish in the barony of Rossclogher, county Leitrim, province of Connaught, Ireland, 6½ miles from Sligo. The parish consists of twenty townlands. The soil is poor. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Kilmore, value £69, in the patronage of the incumbent of Manor Hamilton. The church was erected by the late Board of First Fruits in 1821. The Roman Catholic chapel is united to that of Mullys, in Killasnet.
