In 1868, the parish of Ballymacormick contained the following places:

"BALLYMACORMICK, a parish in the baronies of Moydow and Ardagh, in the county of Longford, province of Leinster, Ireland, 2 miles to the S. of Longford. It is situated on the Royal canal, which connects it with Dublin. A large portion of the parish consists of bog and waste land. Limestone and sandstone are found in abundance. The living is a rectory included in the union of Temple-michael, in the diocese of Kilmore, Ardagh, and Elphin. The principal residence is Rockspring House.
