Killashee
"KILLASHEE, pa(rish) and vil(lage), Longford and Moydow bar(onies), W. co Longf(ord), Ir(eland), 3 s.w. of Longford; ac(res) 14,203. The pa(rish) includes some small islands in the Shannon, which touches its north-western border. The soil is poor, with a large acreage of bog. The royal Canal intersects the pa(rish) and the Fallan an affluent of the Shannon, traces part of its eastern border. The pa(rish) church (St. Paul's) was build in 1837. In the pa(rish) are Ardneev's Well and the ruins of an abbey. Middleton House is a seat, formerly the property of the De Montforts, whose family burying-place is in K(illashee) graveyard. The vil(lage) has two annual fairs."
