MORA, or MOORESTOWN, a parish, in the barony of MIDDLETHIRD, county of TIPPERARY, and province of MUNSTER, 3 miles (W. by S.) from Fethard; containing 813 inhabitants, and comprising 2400 statute acres, as applotted under the tithe act. The living is a rectory, in the diocese of Lismore, being the corps of the prebend of Mora in the cathedral of Lismore, and in the patronage of the Bishop: the tithes amount to £259. 7.11.
About 70 children are educated in a school aided by the rector: the school-house was built by subscription.
