22 DYSART - My known forebear is Samuel Dysart, b Londonderry Ireland about 1700. His son James emigrated to Pennsylvania and became a colonel in the revolutionary army; other children spread from the US east coast to Tennessee and the Carolinas. Common family knowledge tells me that, earlier, my ancestors came from the Royal Burgh of Dysart, Fife . 21 BEATSON - David Beatson b abt 1817 Kinghorn Fife; m 1861 to Charlotte Chartres, Newcastle-on-Tyne . He was still living in 1885 and was a Wine Merchant in Kircaldy. 20 LUKE  John Luke, b abt 1808 in Dunfermline was the son of James Luke born abt 1783 m 1807. James Luke had other children all born in Dunfermline: Alexander b 1810, James b 1810 and Harriot b abt 1809. 19 BEALL BELL Looking for descendants of Alexander Beall, b 1565 Largo, d ca.1621 Largo. One of his sons dropped the "A" from his surname -- Dr. James Bell. But one of the doctor's sons -- Ninian Beall -- put the "A" back in and went on to become a famous soldier and settler in Maryland during the 1600s. 18 BELL BEALL I am descended from Alexander Beall through the Bells (Bealls) who stayed behind in Largo (see query # 19). My great grandfather, Andrew Bell, b Largo 1846 d 1920 was married to Margaret Clunie, who died at Clunie Cottage  in Largo ca. 1933. Their son Alexander emigrated to Calgary, Alberta, Canada around 1912, returned for the First World War in the Canadian Expeditionary Force (Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, 3rd Battalion.); he was seriously wounded, returned home to Calgary and died in the mid- 1920s. Following children christened in Dunfermline: Janet 1787, John 1789, Margaret 1791, David 1794, and Micheal 1796. Three children christened in Beath: Elizabeth 1799, Robert 1800, and Matthew 1803. 06 CASH   My Cash family came from Strathmiglo, Fife. Don Cash, who lived in San Diego, researched my ancestor William CASH, b Strathmiglo 1653. Another William Cash, believed to be his uncle and born 1625 somewhere in Scotland, brought my ancestor to America in the 1670's. This William, settling in Salem MA, stated that the Cash seat was anciently at the Place Cash, in Strathmiglo. Uncle William was a master mariner who possibly sailed the The Good Intent  out of the Forth - in the American Colonies trade. 05 CAMERON  John, tailor in Fowlis m 1848 Elizabeth Cameron in Beath, Fife: children Helen b 1843, Rachel b 1845, Elizabeth b 1848.The family emigrated 1848 to Vaughan Twp. (north of York/Toronto), Ontario, Canada. Daughter Christina b 1849 then mother Elizabeth died soon after: the daughters then lived with different neighbours. What happened to John after 1851 Ontario census? I am looking for Cameron relatives in Fife and Perthshire: did any other relatives emigrate with them? 03 ILIFF Left Fife, Scotland for America in the 1700s; ended up in Kentucky. Sarah ILIFF b 1852 to Daniel Iliff b 1824 and Jacrithy Hartley, Greenup, Kentucky. Both Hamms and Iliffs fought on the Union side - 22nd Kentucky Reg't in the Civil war. Sarah married Benjamin Northcut Hamm,1830, Pine Springs, KY, a School Teacher.
