Dryburgh Abbey Ruins
Dryburgh was founded in 1150 and razed in 1322 by Edward II during the wars of Scottish independence. Even as a ruin, the abbey shows the wealth and power that the church held in those days. The tree on the left is a Mulberry, presumably grown for its health-giving properties.
