"Built pre 1783 for the workers of the Brothy Burn Pit"

["Sauchie and Alloa, A People's History" by John Adamson, 1988]

"Brothy Burn" no longer exists as a seperate settlement. Parts of 'the burn' or stream are still visible, but much if it too has disappeared into culverts. The site of the 'village' lies on the boundaries of present day Sauchie and Alloa.
