The library has a Family History Room which houses a small local collection of genealogical and historical interest, but incorporated in it is the collection of Fife Family History Society.

There are film and fiche readers (for which booking is advised).

Computer terminals allow free access to ancestry.co.uk (for library members), the Scran collection of photographs, and the Statistical Accounts for Scotland.

There is no Local History Librarian and no research help can be provided by library staff.

You can download lists of census and OPR films, valuation rolls, directories and historical newspapers held by Fife Council libraries. There are also some source lists of materials for local history topics held by the libraries.
