There are two main cemeteries in New Monkland. One is named "New Monkland Cemetery" and is situated within the town of Airdrie. The other is named "Old Monkland Cemetery," and is situated within the town of Coatbridge. For all enquiries about Cemeteries in North Lanarkshire contact:-

Covenanters
On Friday 30th November 1683, John Whitelaw from New Monkland was executed
with other Covenanters. He became known as the Monklands Martyr.
