Early Taxation Records for Wigtownshire
Early taxation records for Wigtownshire are held at the National Archives of Scotland,
Edinburgh.
Lists for each parish will be found in the
"Wigtownshire" records. Burgh lists are separate. For parishes which
contain a burgh (Stranraer, Whithorn and Wigtown) there will be 2
separate lists - the burgh entries and the non-burgh entries. The
