The National Library of Wales. The major repository of information relevant to Welsh genealogy, such as Bishop's Transcripts, Parish Registers, Marriage Bonds and Allegations, Nonconformist Records, Probate Records, Tithe Maps and Apportionment Schedules, Legal and Administrative Records, Estate Records and Personal Papers, Pedigree Books, Newspapers, etc.
The National Archives
(TNA). Formed by a merger of the Public Record Office and the Royal Commission on
Historical Manuscripts, is a major repository for English and Welsh records.
A good starting point is their article Family History - Guide to Resources. TNA also provide some useful Research Guides. The National Archives Catalogue is also online
Archives Network Wales an online catalogue of the collections of the main archive repositories in Wales
The Archives Council Wales is the main point for access to information about archive repositories in Wales. The site includes a full listing of repositories.
The National Archives has details of many archive repositories in the UK with links to their web sites, if any.
The HMC's NRA (UK National Register of Archives) site contains information about the location and nature of historical records that have been created by individuals, families, businesses and organisations

People's Collection Wales
Copac is a union catalogue It provides FREE access to the merged online catalogues of 22 of the largest university research libraries in the UK and Ireland PLUS the British Library. There is an interface to the NLW.
Archives Hub. The repositories (libraries, archives, or special collections departments) which currently (7/2002) have archive descriptions available on the Hub include; University of Wales, Aberystwyth; University of Wales, Bangor; University of Wales, Lampeter; University of Wales, Swansea.
The Royal Commission on the Ancient & Historical Monuments of Wales (RCAHMW)
Apart from their online Archive Catalogue there is the ;
Chapels database; The computerised database will eventually list all known nonconformist chapels in Wales. This initial list covers the pre-1974 county of Cardiganshire; further counties will be added as and when the database for these areas is completed. The record lists basic information about each chapel together with key dates.
British Library A very comprehensive online catalogue.
National Museums & Galleries of Wales
ARCHAEOLEG CAMBRIA ARCHAEOLOGY (Dyfed Archaeological Trust). One of the four Welsh Archaeological Trusts working to help protect, record and interpret all aspects of the historic landscape. The other 3 are; Gwynedd Archaeological Trust, Clwyd-Powys Archaeological Trust, Glamorgan-Gwent Archaeological Trust.
Bangor University Library - includes an Archives and Welsh Library section
University Research Centre, Lampeter - includes the Founders' Library
