"LLANDDEWI-ABER-GWESSIN, a parish in the hundred of Builth, county Brecon, 13 miles N.W. of Builth, its post town, and 15 from Rhayader. It is situated at the confluence of the rivers Gwessin and Irvon. There is a lead mine worked in the parish. The neighbourhood is barren and thinly populated. The living is a curacy annexed to the vicarage of Llangammarch, in the diocese of St. David's. The church is a small ancient structure."
