"MAES MYNIS, a parish in the hundred of Builth, county Brecon, 1 mile S.W. of Builth, its post town. The rivers Donhiw and Irvon flow through the parish, which includes the village of Nantyain. The living is a rectory in the diocese of St. David's, value £128, in the patronage of the bishop. The church is a small ancient edifice dedicated to St. David. The charities amount to about £8 per annum."
